Project Overview
This collection showcases a selection of website designs developed for a diverse range of clients and industries. Each project was tailored to support the client’s unique goals, balancing visual design, user experience, and functionality to create intuitive, engaging digital experiences. The following examples highlight a variety of approaches to website design, from marketing-focused landing pages to fully developed multi-page websites.
Website Design Process
Every website project follows a process tailored to the client’s goals, audience, and business objectives while maintaining a strategic focus on usability, functionality, and visual design. From initial planning and information architecture through wireframing, interface design, and development, each website is built to create an intuitive user experience while reinforcing the client’s brand. Although much of my earlier work was created within collaborative Adobe-based workflows, I now independently manage both the design and development process in WordPress. The workflow below reflects my current end-to-end approach.
Site Map
Before beginning any website project, I conduct a comprehensive site crawl to evaluate the existing website’s structure, content, and overall complexity. This process helps determine the number of unique page templates required while identifying opportunities to consolidate redundant or underperforming pages. By assessing the site’s content hierarchy, navigation, and traffic patterns, I can create a more streamlined information architecture and establish a strong foundation before design begins. The findings also inform project planning by helping estimate scope, establish realistic timelines, prioritize deliverables, and assign responsibilities across the team.
Wireframes
For larger site builds, I move into wireframing to define the layout, content hierarchy, and user flow before introducing visual design. This stage focuses on organizing information in a way that is intuitive, functional, and aligned with both user needs and business objectives. By resolving structural decisions early, wireframes provide a clear blueprint for the website, making it easier to gather stakeholder feedback, refine the user experience, and transition efficiently into high-fidelity design.
Home Page
I then develop two high-fidelity homepage concepts within WordPress, using the Blocksy theme in combination with the Stackable plugin to efficiently build out flexible layouts. Once a direction is selected, I establish the global design system within the site’s appearance settings, defining typography and color rules to ensure consistency across all pages. From there, I configure and install the necessary plugins to support functionality and performance, while also building reusable components and sections that can be deployed throughout the site to streamline production and maintain a cohesive design system.
Core Pages
Utilizing the reusable modules, I build out the remaining core page templates identified during the site crawl, ensuring each layout is designed for consistency, flexibility, and scalability across the full site. This includes developing all unique page structures needed to support the site’s content hierarchy and user flows, while maintaining alignment with the established design system. Once the templates are complete and approved, I hand the project off to the team for content migration and population, ensuring a smooth transition from design to implementation.
Site Launch
Once all pages are complete, the project enters a structured QA phase using BugHerd to track and resolve issues efficiently. I review the site for user interface and experience inconsistencies, ensuring layouts, interactions, and responsiveness function as intended across devices. In parallel, the SEO team audits technical elements such as broken links, metadata, and redirects, while the content team reviews all copy.
After QA is complete, I proceed with the site launch process through WP Engine, moving the project from the sandbox environment to staging and then into production. I connect and configure the domain settings—typically managed through GoDaddy—ensuring DNS records are properly pointed and fully propagated. I also verify that the primary domain is correctly assigned and that SSL is active and functioning as expected. Once all configurations are confirmed, I push the site live to production.
