Logo Marks
Project Overview
This collection showcases a selection of logo work developed across a range of independent client projects. Each mark was created to solve a distinct branding need, with a focus on clarity, concept-driven thinking, and adaptability across different applications. The following examples highlight a variety of approaches to identity design across different industries and brand contexts.
Logo Creative Process
The process behind each logo project varies based on the client’s needs, industry, and level of brand maturity, but consistently follows a concept-driven approach grounded in clarity and purpose. From early exploration through refinement and final execution, each logo is developed with a focus on creating distinctive, scalable identities that perform effectively across real-world applications.
Brand Audit
My typical first step in a logo project is conducting a brand audit, where I evaluate the current identity to understand what is working and what is not. This includes assessing visual consistency, scalability, clarity, and overall relevance to the client’s current positioning and audience. By identifying these gaps early in the process, I’m able to show up prepared for the stakeholder discovery meeting.
Stakeholder Discovery
This phase involves direct collaboration with the client through structured conversations focused on understanding internal pain points with the existing brand and clarifying the overall goals of the project. Together, we identify key external factors such as competitors, indicators of brand awareness, and how the current identity is being applied across different applications. This step helps establish a clearer strategic foundation and ensures the work is grounded in both business and marketing objectives.
Mood Boarding
After defining the project challenges and goals, I transition into a visual exploration phase through the development of multiple mood boards. I typically create three distinct directions, ranging from subtle refinement of the existing identity to more progressive evolution and, ultimately, a complete reimagining of the brand. Each direction is supported with key visual components such as a proposed color palette, typography system, and a website hero mockup to demonstrate how the identity could come together in a real-world application.
Logo Concepts
Once a mood board direction is selected, I move into the logo concept phase, where the chosen visual direction is translated into initial identity explorations. I typically develop three to five distinct concepts, each offering a unique interpretation while staying grounded in the established visual direction. These concepts are intentionally varied in approach to test different visual solutions, ranging in level of abstraction, typography treatment, and symbol development. This stage is focused on exploring possibilities rather than refinement, ensuring the strongest strategic and visual direction is identified before moving into final development.
Final Logo
Following a structured round of revisions, I finalize and deliver the approved logo. The final package includes all essential color variations and file formats required for seamless implementation across both digital and print applications. In cases where a full brand guideline document is not part of the scope, I also provide a concise logo usage guide outlining when and how to use each file type to ensure consistency and correct application of the identity.
